Popular Selection List, 2009 Edition

The Popular Selection List, 2009 Edition, an addendum to the Piano Syllabus, 2008 Edition, is a compilation of non-classical pieces, carefully selected to suit each grade level.

Candidates in Grades 3 to 9 have the option of substituting a piece chosen from the Popular Selection list for one study in their grade. Candidates should consult the Piano Syllabus, 2008 Edition for detailed information on substitution policies.

Please note the specific editions/collections and the year of publication which are listed in the syllabus. Some pieces listed in the Popular Selection List may not be contained in newer publications. For example, only the 1996 Warner Bros. publication The Giants of Jazz contains the Lullaby of Birdland arangement. Lullaby of Birdland was not published in the 2004 version of The Giants of Jazz.
