School Accreditation

Dear Parent/Teacher/Student:

Thank you for your interest in promoting high school accreditation for the private study of music through the National Music Certificate Program. Accreditation is an opportunity to recognize prior learning and to acknowledge this through the granting of school credits.

In order to support you in this endeavor the following documents may be downloaded:

• Accreditation Request Form Letter.
• Accreditation Chart illustrating examinations done through The Royal Conservatory that are accepted by provincial Ministries of Education in Canada for high school credit.
• The National Music Certificate Program Certificate Requirements.
• Official Transcript Request Form. (A transcript is an official document listing all the examinations and marks for a particular student).

Steps to Requesting School Credits:

1. Fill out the applicable sections of the Accreditation Request Form Letter.
2. Order an official transcript using the Official Transcript Request Form. The official transcript can be sent directly to your school within two to three weeks.
3. Send all remaining documents to your local high school official for review.

Should more details of the curriculum of the National Music Certificate Program be required, then you may wish to provide school officials with the current syllabi. The Piano Syllabus and the Theory Syllabus may be purchased through The Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited website at www.frederickharrismusic.com.
